    Default Rx Power for my 6HV

    Thinking of using one of these to power electrics (610's 650, mini vbar and futaba R617FS rx) on my new 6HV Voltz 2100mAh 2S 6.6V RX 20C LiFePO4 Pack VT210020C2S

    Want to try and keep it neat and simple. Also fancy a BEC but much more expensive Western Robotics Hercules Super BEC 14S 10A/15A Peak WRL-HBECS

    Any advice?

    Cheers

    Is it a case of pick one?

    For simplicity it doesn't get any simpler than using a LiFe pack.

    They might be good but they are very expensive those WR becs. I have also read that they can upset fbl controllers as the output is a bit noisy. It can be fixed by adding a ferrite ring but for the price it should of come with one or two.

    It's what I'm looking at Ray. I just struggle with the size of the damn things. Even the one you show above is a big pack and only 2100. I've found some nice compact ones but they are a bit more

    The only risk with LiFe packs is you only know they are flat when your radio gear stops working. That is they give a very constant output upto the minute they have had enough and then the voltage drops off very quickly.

    You need to do a couple of flights and see how much you take out of them to calculate the total number of flights you can get.

    Using the WR on mine as there isn't really a lot of space on the 6hv, 1 ferrite ring and no problems and no risk of a flat.

    Western Robotics Super BEC on my Xxtreme too. I have spliced it into the negative side of the YGE ESC using just one pack on the 14s system.

    No added RX battery weight and very simple to use, plus your battery is always fully charged.

    Expensive yes but all good things are.

    I'm using it from all 12 cells on my 6hv, and like you from the - side of my YGE120 and 1 pack on the 7hv. No problems, glitches, no worries.

    I'm trying the LiFe route with a Hirobo SDX I'll be getting airborne in the near future. I'm using an AR7100 and this LiFe pack;

    It is a manageable size and weighs 197 grams.
