Never even heard of Gootch :L

I recommend a better brand, like E-flite or Blade

Maybe go onto the BMFA Classified Ads section and look for some decent second hand heli's on there .. you might pick up a bargin

I'v heard some good reports about Gootch, but not enough yet to form an opinion.
As has been said, Tarot is a good clone, CopterX is OK and HK is getting better than it used to be.

Besides, isn't gootch the skin between your ar*e and b*ll bag? (urban dictionary)

The name really isn't an issue if its good kit surely (if anyone asks what it is i'll just say its a 450) I could buy a secondhand trex but the idea of this heli is to build it from scratch so that would take away part of the reason for doing it, this will also give me some more cp pro 2 and phoenix time in the meantime

I have a Gootch RC 450 Pro and the quality seems very good to me. Helis from devon have good customer service as well.

Mark, you're absolutely right, of course. We're just joshing!
Can you post a link to the kit you were looking at? When you're starting out it's better not to be a "beta tester", but Gootch look OK compared to some.
