There are so many stories on both sides of the camps with issues, the latest of which was the DX8 but I've had DX6i and DX7 and DX7SE since I started this hobby and had no issues.

We prefer what we prefer, there is no right or wrong, only what is right for you and Futaba was the right choice for Align. Probably more to do with Spektrum's partnership with Eflite/BeastX but I am just guessing here.

Looks a very good overall package. Be good to see it compare to the Blade 450 RTF as this seems to be the RTF to beat.

Pretty shrewd move marketing wise, implies Blade/Spektrum/BeastX = entry level, pro = Align/Futaba/ ah 3gx. Kind of fell apart there.

The more I think about it, what a genius move. For the newbie getting into it, what a perfect combo. You get everything there you need to get going and from well respected companies. Looks like a slightly more basic Sport but I bet it will fly well.

The Tx is apparently a T6. Ie FHSS not FASST.

Cant find any info on the T6 but if it is anything like the 6EX then it will be a waste of time imo. The 6EX is a very limited radio that does not even have sub trim. I would personally much prefer to use a DX6i which has everything you need for a low end radio.

As others have commented, it comes as no surprise to me that Align have gone with Futaba instead of Spektrum as I believe HH are the owners of Spektrum and Eflite (if I were HH I would not license my radio gear to Align).
This is could of been a really good move by Align and im surprised they have not done it sooner but if the radio is as limited as I suspect it is then the package falls a bit short. I would rather go for a RTF blade 450 or just by a Trex and transmitter separately.

This does pose another question though - are Aligns new micro helis going to be using Futaba radio gear instead of there own system. If it does there 3G micro heli could prove to be a real competitor to the mcpx

    Futaba T6 EX (FF-6) | VStabi

Here is a T6EX being used with v-bar so it does have centre trim setting else you wouldn't be able to calibrate it in the v-bar software. As it is being used with a 617 rx then this version is FASST.

Here is the Futaba website that says the 6EXA does not have subtrim (cant find any mention of the 6EX though so cant be sure if these are the same TXs.

It does indeed show it to be a FASST system though

After posting I found the Futaba TX comparison list and see as you rightly say no sub trim.
