Default have a dx 6i,thinking of getting a dx 7?

Hi all as per title really.
Ok i have a dx 6i that's about 3 years old now,and im wondering about upgrading to a dx 7 (pref the dx 7 s)
    However heres the catch..
I dont actually need the extra channel or telemetry features etc, just fancy a newer radio and hoping the dx7 feels a little nicer to hold(is it?)
Any problems if i decided to keep what i have? radio is in good condition and i have never had a problem (except those plasticky trim sliders which broke but were replaced by horizon)
Like i said the main reason for upgrading is that i just fancy a new radio,(maybe im mad)
Any of you guys use or owned both and is it really worth the extra £ (i know i could easily make some cash back by selling the dx6i)
Or should i just keep what ive got bearing the above?
    your thoughts appreciated guys.
Ps the extra channel is unlikely to be needed in the future either as ive owned nitro before but am now more than happy with my current helis
    thanks

You want a DX8 - it's not the channels, it's the features. Besides, with the direction FBL is heading, you may need more channels than you'd think...

I too started with (and still have as a back up) a DX6i and upgraded about two years ago to the DX7. The main reason was my club was considering banning tx's with loose AA batteries but I found the DX7 was better balanced and just felt totally different and more solid. I struggle to fly smoothly now with my DX6i, which just feels very 'plasticy and loose' compared to the DX7.

Thanks guys for all your input.
the dx6i has served me well and never missed a beat, also being my first decent radio(i started off with an esky 35mhz with dodgy pots, which would lead to random glitches and the inevitable crash that followed) i had nothing else to compare it to,so when i bought the dx6i it was a real eye opener.

On day 4 of not smoking so reckon if i can keep it up (no pun intended) i will be hitting the buy button come pay day.

    Took a lot of convincing didn't i?
    thanks again

i had the DX6i for 12 months or so and upgraded to the DX7s for the extra channel (nitro governor). i must admit, for the money, the DX7s is a great Tx. feels such good quality, great features, easier to use, looks better and has not missed a beat in 3 months now ....i thoroughly recommend one to you

I went to the DX7 from the DX6i. Must agree with all comments. Much better quality.

I went from a DX6i to a DX8 recently. Best move I've made, sooo much easier to use and setup. The menus are WAY better.

    Skip the dx7 and get a dx8

Can be found for £200 I even sold the rx included for £25 so it only cost me £175
