    Default New to Helis

    Hi Guys,

Brand new to helis, I Bought a Raptor 50 v2 last year... got it all up and running and with a few helpful mates got it set up and in the air.. It did scare me alot!!! and didnt fly it again... its just sat on the shelf in the garage.
I had a Futaba 6EX on it which was a real nightmare to set up..

A mate at work flyes electric 450 helis and hes advised me to start with 450 size so hes lent me an copterx which he liked to fly!! I bought a DX7 altho in the wrong mode!!! But managed to change it over roughly!!.lol.

Figured out how to work my new Lipo Balance charger today..

Im not new to RC... I have run Petrol boats mostly in the past and Petrol Cars... Always liked the look of flying something so bought into helis!!! Got my self Phenix 3 sim.....

    So thats me!!!

Welcome to this addictive hobby. The only advice I can give is stick at it as it won't come overnight!!
Comin up to 12 months for me now.....heli's grown to 3 and the sim.
Just want some better weather now. It'll come. Springs nearly on the doorstep!!
How did you get on with the cars? I had one when I was a kid but things have come on loads since then! What's the best nitro car that comes with readily available and cheap spares?? Wouldn't mind another to dabble with!
    Cheers all.....Karl...

Never ran Nitro cars it was all the big Petrol ones... i had a FG which was a beast until you crashed and wiped everything off one side of the car!!! Thats RC tho!!

    Glyn.. How you doing buddy!!
Yer about your heli... i managed to touch a blade when "trying" to hover it...... Fairly lucky and just stripped main gear! Ordered a new one and main shafts but main shaft seems fine after i got it out...blades ok to which im surprised at!!! how much you get them blades for 2.99 for 6

Also bought a cheap pitch guauge.. i was trying to guess that i was getting 5degree of positive at 50% throttle!!

Hey Jackal, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you jumped in at the deep end with a large nitro but sounds like fun too.

450's are great for practice but now you have a transmitter get yourself a copy of Phoenix Sim Phoenix model flight simulation :: Welcome and practice without the worry of it costing you crashes!

Good luck and hope to hear more from you soon.
