    Right.

Step one, find a truck trailer, step two drive at a high rate of speed under it - result! Actually isn't that just to preserve the bottom half...

But seriously I reckon the disk cutter is your only chance and as said above no one would ever notice, I think that will give the cleanest cut.

i have used a cold cut circular saw and they are very good in fact excellent for sheet metal but it all depends on how thick the materal is.

A TCT steel cutting circular saw will make very short work of the steel. The small rage type saws we use at work make short work of 2" steel bars and 30 odd 12mm pieces of stud at once.

Naaa! Not really, I had to do an articulated petrol tanker a couple of years back, it was being blown up so it was ok being rather rough & ready! Cutting big bits of metal isn't a big problem for me, it's the little fiddly bits of plastic, vinyl and rubber that will shatter, tear, melt, burn, crumble etc!

And I did suggest digging a hole but it's in a studio so that's not possible and apparently even with my ridiculous charges it's still cheaper to go this route than green screen & CGIing it.

I know this may seem simple task for you & would be interesting to see some pic's along the way but once you get so way through the cutting the car you will need some sort of jig that will allow to turn the car over for underside cutting I assume so you dont damage to the roof etc.

Nothing quite so sophisticated I'm afraid, I'll be using a fork truck.

Hey Guy, Nice to see someone else on the forum doing ridiculas things for TV and video aswell as me .
If there's anything you might need a hand with give me a shout (or if there's projects like this your unable to do). I would attack this in a few ways, the reciprocating saw for most the work, then a mix of angle grinding, scissors, jigsaw and all sorts of things like that where it gets to the trickier parts. I presume you then need to mount all the seat tops etc to a whole new flat base so they stay in position when moved around?

Forklift truck and straps always works well for lifting cars

Yes Grant if I get into trouble I might well call on you!

I do have a pretty wide variety of things available I wont be solely reliant on the recip saw, its just that that is the one thing I dont have, and it looks like it could be useful. I do have a smaller air powered version which is great for precise cuts, and oxy acetaline for the tougher areas, Ive got a 9" grinder, 5" grinder, and a pretty brutal air powered file.

I'm trying to acheive something like this....

    sunk.jpg

I'm going to go below the glass for obvious reasons so mine will be at slightly less of an angle. I'm figuring on buying one of those laser level things to mark my cut lines.
