So should the auto update feature pick up the new beta version then? Or does it have to be downloaded from the Phoenix site?

i think i will just wait for a while, from what i have read the new camera views make it more like a game than a training simulator anyway. although it might be a good way of training for FPV flight i suppose

Thats a key piece of info there!!!! I was thinking there is no way they can change the format that much to make it pretty much useless for people wanting to use it as a rc helicopter training aid.

I don't think it will show up on auto update, at least not while in beta.

I've just downloaded it, you can choose if you want to use the 3D landscapes, which are pretty crap tbh.

I can't see any new helis there, nor can i see any new landscape (apart from the 3D ones) :L

You have a massive logo at the top of the screen that says BETA RELEASE NOT FOR SALE, and it takes about 1 minute to go during your flight.

You can edit/delete the 3D landscapes if you want aswell.

When you start up V4 for the first time it says, the game may contain bugs .. blah blah blah

Overall, so far, a pretty worthless upgrade that i wish i hadn't done atm

EDIT: They've also added a very annoying lens flare to the sim, that appears when you fly in the direction of the sun :L

do you notice any difference in feel?

I see they mentioned in the V4 press release that they improved FBL heli physics specifically... I'm still downloading the update so haven't tried myself.

I'd like to see them update the model list with some of the latest heli's like the 600 Pro, Synergy E6/E7, Gaui X7, Whiplash etc etc.

Not really, they feel just the same as they always have to me, but the Velo 50 sounded slightly different to me

Seems as though you can only do cockpit view with the 3D landscapes, and it looks as though you're sat in a real heli, even if you're flying something like trex 450 :L

Hi Sam

Just a suggestion, but why don't you send them a direct message with balanced point of view. They will definitely listen to your thoughts

You say "Overall, so far, a pretty worthless upgrade". It's not an upgrade yet, it's a BETA and therefore you take on all the annoyances in exchange to get an early look at something. So any constructive feedback at this stage will help, don't slag it!!

BTW Flying in the sun is difficult so I'm not sure where the problem is ... lol
