Default Anyone using Blade SR tx with Phoenix?

I can't get the Blade SR tx to work with Phoenix. If I switch on the tx and plug in the Phoenix cable, the tx voltage display goes out and Phoenix doesn't recognise the tx. The adaptor cable gets warm. Same thing if the adaptor cable is plugged in before the tx is switched on. I couldn't get it to work with Helimaster using a usb adaptor; but the cable never got warm with that.
I have had the back off the tx, and the cables to the trainer port do not seem to have been modified.
It isn't the adaptor; as that works with a 4-ch tx from my coaxial Lama with the e-Sky adaptor.
    Any ideas?

I used my SR tx on Phoenix before I got my DX7se. I had to change some of the dip switches on the front of the SR tx for it to work properly.

I can check the dip switch configuration for you tomorrow when I get back into my office.

From what I recall the tx display should not go out when the Phoenix lead is plugged in. Again I will check this tomorrow at work and get back to you.

The only one problem you are going to have with the SR tx is that it has build in expo that you can not turn off. Apart from that it workes fine.

Thanks Surinder. I appreciate that there will be expo that I can't change; but the 4-channel that I am using at present is far too sensitive when used with realistic Blade SR settings on Phoenix. Very very minor movements of the sticks move the copter just right. Normal small movements, as used on the SR tx, shoot the copter across the flying site.
In order to learn to fly the real SR, I need to use the SR tx with Phoenix (or buy a DX6).

my dip switch settings are set as follows:

    1 down, 2 up, 3 down, 4 down, 5 down, 6 down, 7 up, 8 up, 9 down, 10 down

your voltage display should not turn off when connected to phoenix.

    hope this helps.

    Thanks again, Surinder.
Unfortunately, those are the standard DIP switch settings; and my tx is set up with those so it doesn't help. I also have a usb cable for other sims: such as FMS and ClearView. Same problem with that cable. The wires from the trainer socket fit a one-way plug attached to the main circuit board. From left to right looking at the front of the plug (the front of the plug being towards the middle of the tx) they are Red, Orange, Yellow, Black. The order matches that at the trainer socket plug; so I don't think the wiring has been altered. Also, the wiring is wrapped around the other wiring within the tx; and looks like it hasn't been disturbed.
I think I will have to experiment with the settings on the 4-channel tx to get the sensitivity way down to the level of the SR tx.

Mike try reversing dip switch 8. That is the only one I had to fiddle with for my setup. Also run through the calibration and setup for your tx in Phoenix. I think Phoenix can use it own expo for each model and the expo in the tx. I'm sure someone with more experience may chime in. The one thing to watch out for is the SR in the sim is not very realistic. To me it seemed far easier to fly than the real thing. You may be able to dial down the rotor hover stability in the model advanced setting to get it to feel a bit more like a real SR. Also flying with a little wind on also helped.

let me know how you get on.

    Surinder.
Will try dip switch 8 setting. I got some settings for a realistic SR in Phoenix from another post. Can't remember which forum. These are the ones that I fly with. The SR is as flighty with these settings as it appears to be in real life when trying to hover. The only thing is that the real tx requires larger stick movements than my 4-channel does in Phoenix. The real tx seems to hardly respond at all around centre stick in real flying; while the 4-channel is way too sensitive - even with the expo settings I got from the forum. I agree that the Phoenix supplied SR is a doddle to fly in comaprison to the real thing. That's why I only fly the variant that I created in Phoenix. Better to practice with something that reacts like the real thing.

Mike I was just thinking your tx voltage display should remain on when connected to Phoenix. The only time I get this display to turn off is when the tx is turned on and plugged into my charger. This may be a stupid question but have you got the correct lead and are you plugging into the trainer port correctly?

Oh I would like to try your SR variant out if possible?
