It was pointed out to me the other day the potential pit-fall of this type of FBL head. With the blades running down the boom look at what is happening. The front blade is lifting now look at the direction of force of the link on the swash. The rear blade is flapping down. Again look at the direction of force of the link on the swash.
I have no idea what that force is doing but it is not a cancelling force so doesn't look good to me.

I like the zero degrees markers on the head/grips. I think I've seen it on something before.
Miniature Aircraft flybarless heads have pitch markings in them.

I've just realised what you are describing about this design of head, it's an interesting point to make about the constant pressures being stressed on the blade bolts and swash balls. The normal design with balls at the top and bottom allows the head to rock without this pressure being placed on the links.
Only time will tell how this design will cope with these stresses being placed on thin bolts.

Hi All,
As to stress on the links and head bolts etc interesting point, however i am sure the SAB test pilots Bert and Tareq have put more stress on that model than most of us mere mortals will ever do
It will be interesting to see though how it fairs in the hands of 'normal' pilots. I am sure we will find out in due course.
Looking foward to seeing the 600 size, hmm!
Regards,
Mark.

Normal pilots do seem much more capable at breaking helis than them pro type pilots :-)
