Southampton funfly on the 5th of February

Hi all,

A few of us will be flying down at Paddy's (P4ddy) field located here:

Gover Road, Southampton - Google Maps

I'm sure Paddy will be on at some point to post some more info on the location.

Sunday the 5th of February

I suppose it would be nice to have a little funfly going on?

Say start at 10am until dark.

Right, it looks like there is a motorway on one side and a lake to the other, these are not to be used as targets lol

Not sure how parking is but the field looks nice and big.

I fly my velo 50 there all the time its alot bigger than its looks. No one bothers you either. And Gav on here takes his lawnmower down to mow a nice takeoff/landing area.

Parking is just bumping your car half off the road. The dog walkers will be shocked to see loads of cars lol. All the dog walkers that do come always walk around the perimiter & you don't fly close to it. As we have a mown heli pad (needs cutting again Gav lol, i may borrow my nans car & nip down with my old Qualcast Panther if poss before the weekend) we could have a spot auto comp & as i've had a lot of practice at that field i fancy my chances

. The motorway is a long long way out of flying range & the houses on the other side of the trees on the right & road on the left are out of range unless you fly bigger than massive circuits. Flying from around 10am is best as the sun then goes behind you for the rest of the day. It's easy to find from the motorway, Junction 3 of M27 onto the M271 to southampton docks, take 3rd exit of rounabout at the end & Leyland Daf is on the 3rd exit so you can't miss it..
