im not as happy go lucky as you may think and do learn at a progressive rate, and I will spend alot of time on the sim, yes I will crash thats a definate.

obviously i hope you dont crash it mate but its proberly enevitable. with flybarless the damage quickly gets transferred into the head so youll proberly need grips and rotor hub again

Crash damage to head is no different but impacts on head are more detrimental to the servos potentially more so if direct to swash of course.
DFC having solid pitch links that won't bend will not help this, but hey ho![]()
Chris
crash damage to head is way different from flybared to flybarless.
on my 450 pro and 600 esp when i had it the damage to main head parts was nothing really, blades flybar and main and feathering shaft thats it. in a very bad crash maybe blade grips but only maybe.
with fbl there is nothing to give except more expensive parts thats all im saying

Down field now just flown it and very impressed.Rolls are really axial and I am crap at them very crisp on cyclic and generally improves the character of the 550 so although I am not convinced about its long term integrity yet I must say it bloody flies good.

Chris
I never worry about fitting the head stop either just habit
Some helis if you crash the bade grip balls will hit this and cause damage
But think aligh helis are ok just do a check pop the link off and spin 180deg to so if it misses the head stop
Direct flight control I am pretty sure is the proper term although other options are out there
On the integrity thing it's a personal thought about the long term stresses placed on a rigid link system from the damping effect of flight. Now Align do makes mistakes but I would like to think cleverer people than I will ever be have thought this thru and tested it.
I am 110% confident in running mine but will keep a watchful eye on the forums for any potential problems people encounter.
Having flown mine a few times now and more later todayI think it works great,I am very impressed with it from a flying point of view and think it has added a spark and a real connected feel to what is already a great model.

thanks for that! Cant wait to get mine this week!
No worries,I am really looking forward to hearing from some of the other Guys running this head,I think it's important to get several peoples point of view before you decide if it's a good idea or not.
Oh from a eye candy point of view I think it looks dogs Horlicks.
Chris
Jamie was flying his today and it looks impressive.
It was clear that the head didnt load up at all through the entire flight, and he was trying his best to get it to. I think a vid is on way...

Will there be a 500 DFC head??
