I noticed Midlands had stock yesterday, but I couldn't grab myself one from Robbe SchluterUK as they'd all gone out to shops :-(

I am not convinced about this head one bit but as the saying goes curiosity killed the cat or 550 in this case

Just ordered from Midlands so will see if it survives the weekend

Are these already the revised ones?

Would seem to me that there hasn't been enough time for them to ship the new design, so if you buy this you'd have to return the arms and screws to get the new ones?

I really like the design of this head, but i dont like the fact tht when the feathering shaft flaps up and down it puts stress on the pitch link bolts!! I must say i prefure the fbl heads with the swash driver built into the bottom of the head block!!!!
If there was a DFC head with NO dampening then i might consider getting one

Just spoken to Midlands the 550/600 head has the upgraded arms and bolts.

Will be interesting Ongoing to see of the design is sound like the Compass one.

Against my better judgement I am trying one on my 550 for two reasons mainly it looks nice and I do think the 550 is a bit out of proportion sort of short and stumpy.

I like the lower sleek look of the 6hv and 600efl pro so by lowering the head on the 550 it may look more in proportion.

key question for me is will the head geometry with this new design be any better for a Vbar, as the standard 600Pro FBL head which is now shipping with 550V2 kits does not have great geometry, so I get quite low values (<80) in the Vbar for the 8 degree set up step.
