Some years ago, at the Nats at Barkston Heath, Lee Elborn (remember him?) was flying in F3C, when his tail drive let go in the middle of the double roll! His Bergen started to pirouette wildly, and he did the sensible thing, hitting the "hold".
The heli dropped out of its thrashing inverted, and Lee proceeded to do an inverted auto from about 100ft up, gliding it across the tarmac to the long grass, and then holding it off until the blades had almost stopped!
He didn't even bend the flybar in the inverted landing!
He got a huge round of applause for saving the model, but "null points" - F3C can be a bitch!
The unscathed model was repaired before the next round, and he completed the competition with it!
A remarkable piece of flying, but unfortunately, not captured on video (as far as I am aware!).

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.
Two things I noticed about Tareq on that video.
1: He "Had" a contract with Edge blades not long back and was using SAB blades on that heli. Obviously the link with the Goblin somewhere.
2: He was using the old fashioned flybar. What has happened to his links with FBL.?

Well, he had to fix the failed tail-rotor drive - a coupling had come loose!

Done that myself a few times
Normally get away with it.

Its really not that difficult.I did this with my 700E last week.
Now just because my boom sheared off and nearly hit me and my canopy now looks like a poorly put together jig saw puzzle, doesnt make me any less of a man than tareq, right?
